Robot Vacuum Cleaner Samsung Navibot SR8845 review

Robotic vacuum cleaners have been around for almost a decade (the first Roomba was introduced in 2002) but they are still surprisingly uncommon, at least in nordic countries. Since they are so uncommon, it is also hard to find first hand experiences that are often important in helping to make a decision to either buy or pass on one.

A big part contributing to the relative rarity of household robots is probably the price combined with the utility and durability. If a robot costs too much, does not perform satisfactorily, or breaks down too easily, then no one will want to buy one. When my wife told me one day that we needed a robotic vacuum cleaner, I immediately set out to research the robot with the best price/performance combination. In this review, I look briefly at what offerings are available in the robot vacuum cleaner market and why I chose Samsung SR8845 and how satisfied I have been with it.

The Hoya – Pentax – Tokina – Tamron (and Samsung) Conundrum: Who owns who

Following various photography forums, it has become apparent that people have many widely held misunderstandings regarding the co-operation and ownership between Hoya, Tokina, Pentax and to some extent Tamron.

The reason that so many people get confused about the relations between these companies is simple: the companies have co-operated with each other on lens design and manufacturing. Here are a few misconceptions that seem to surface regularily:
